Resolving conflicting writes by keeping the one with the highest timestamp and discarding the rest.

the two-minute refresher

Each write carries a timestamp; on conflict the highest wins.
Simple, and every replica converges.
Clock skew can make an older write 'win'; concurrent writes are silently dropped.
Fine for caches and settings, wrong for carts and counters.
